Dumenko announced a visit to the UOC Cathedral in Cherkasy, which was seized by supporters of the OCU

The head of the OCU, Epiphany Dumenko, plans to visit Cherkasy, where he will hold religious services at the Archangel Michael Cathedral of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, which was seized from the UOC last year. Dumenko’s visit to the temple seized by his associates is scheduled for September 7. This was reported on the official Facebook page of the Cherkasy branch of the OCU.

«The Primate of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine, His Beatitude Metropolitan Epiphanius of Kyiv and All Ukraine, will visit Cherkasy. On September 7, at 9:00 a.m., a solemn Divine Liturgy will be held at the St. Michael’s Cathedral Garrison Cathedral. The service will be led by His Beatitude Metropolitan Epiphanius on the occasion of honoring the memory of the holy martyr Makarios of Kaniv and Ovruch, whose holy relics are kept in our church,» the statement said.

We recall that on October 17, 2024, after an unsuccessful nighttime attempt to seize the cathedral, the raiders of the OCU, having increased their numbers, finally took control of the Archangel Michael Cathedral of the Cherkasy Diocese of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. During another clash, the clergy and parishioners of the church were expelled from the premises. Many clergymen and believers of the UOC suffered injuries of varying severity and chemical burns from the use of tear gas by the raiders.
