Earlier, we reported that the hierarch of the Greek Orthodox Church, Metropolitan Seraphim of Piraeus, called for the convening of a Pan-Orthodox Council to resolve the Ukrainian church crisis. The hierarch noted that due to the church situation in Ukraine, pan-Orthodox unity has been seriously shaken, which must be restored jointly.
The head of the Phanar spoke about the “special privileges” of the Patriarchate of Constantinople

Constantinople Patriarch Bartholomew spoke about the “special privileges” that make the Phanar first among equals in comparison with other Local Orthodox Churches. At the same time, the head of the Phanar noted that none of the Patriarchs of Constantinople “ever used these privileges to impose their will and opinion on other Churches.” He said this on France Télévisions.
“The fact is that the Patriarch of Constantinople enjoys certain privileges that other primates do not have. From this point of view, he is first among equals. These privileges belong only to the Ecumenical Patriarch. Neither my predecessors nor I have ever used them to impose our will and opinion on other Churches. But we have used these privileges to help other Churches in their daily lives, especially when they faced difficulties. It was a primacy of service, not of power,” – said Patriarch Bartholomew.
