The Patriarch of Constantinople began his visit to the United States

On September 14, 2025, Patriarch Bartholomew of Constantinople began his visit to the United States of America. At Washington airport, the head of the Phanar was met by Archbishop Elpidophoros of America, representatives of the clergy, the diplomatic corps, and the Greek diaspora. This was reported by The Orthodox Times.

It is reported that Patriarch Bartholomew’s visit will last 12 days. During this time, the head of the Phanar will hold a series of meetings, including a visit to the White House and an audience with US President Donald Trump. In addition, the Patriarch of Constantinople will visit New York and take part in celebrations organized by the embassies of Greece and Turkey in his honor.
