In Transcarpathia, a newborn baby was dropped off at a UOC convent
on September 15, 2025, a newborn baby abandoned by its mother was found on the territory of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church nunnery in the village of Lipcha in Transcarpathian region. The incident occurred in the chapel of the monastery in honor of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Khustka diocese of the UOC. About it reports ZAXID.NET.
As reported in the Transcarpathian center of emergency medical care on September 16, the call from the monastery of the Nativity of the Virgin came to “103” the day before at about 17:00.
“Workers working near the temple heard a child crying. In the chapel, near the icon, they found a newborn boy – swaddled, still with dried but not tied umbilical cord. According to preliminary estimates, the child is about two days old, ” the ambulance paramedics said.
Paramedic Vasyl Zelenko and emergency medical technician Vasyl Senevich examined the baby and took him to Khustka hospital. The police in Transcarpathian region reported that they had identified the mother of the boy and were finding out all the circumstances of the incident. The child is now under the care of doctors.
