In Lviv region a Catholic church was handed over to the ownership of the territorial community

The Catholic church of St. Karol Boromeusz, located in the village of Kozaki in Zolochevsky district of Lviv region, was returned to communal ownership by court decision. The basis for the claim of the prosecutor’s office was the fact that for more than a year no one claimed ownership rights to the building of the temple. This is reported by Suspilne Media.
It is a neo-Gothic stone church with an area of 209 square meters, built in 1906. The estimated cost of the Church is two million hryvnias.
According to the investigation, more than a year has passed since the church was registered by the city council, and during this time no one has claimed their rights to the property. According to information provided by the press service of the Lviv regional prosecutor’s office, such property is subject to transfer to the communal ownership of the territorial community.
“This was the reason for the prosecutors to represent the interests in court, the requirements of which were satisfied. Currently, the court decision has been executed – the building of the church was returned to the municipal ownership of the city Council”, – stated in the official message. The relevant information has already been entered in the State Register of real rights to immovable property.
We will remind, earlier we reported that 9.4 million hryvnias will be allocated from the budget of Lviv region for the restoration of the church of the UGCC. We are talking about the wooden church of the Descent of the Holy Spirit in the village of Verkhnyaya Rozhanka, Slavsky district, Lviv region. At the same time, according to media reports, a corruption component was revealed in the process, as the prices for restoration materials were significantly inflated.
