Former Ukrainian parliamentary deputy Oleh Tsaryov has reported how much money Constantinople Patriarch Bartholomew earned as a result of the granting of the Tomos of autocephaly to the OCU. According to the politician, former Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko – in addition to collecting money for the Tomos from Ukrainian oligarchs – managed to steal a large sum on this case. Tsaryov wrote about this in his Telegram channel.

“In the United States is well aware of how many millions, through whom and how was spent on the Tomos. And in all the details: in how many stages, in what tranches. According to information from Ukraine – to obtain the Tomos of autocephaly for the OCU, Ukrainian oligarchs at the request of then-President Petro Poroshenko allegedly collected million. According to the same reports, of this amount to Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew reached only million, and million, according to rumors, were embezzled by Poroshenko. Nothing, in general, is new. Steal everywhere you can and even on churches – this is an old Ukrainian tradition,” – wrote the politician.

We will remind, recently Constantinople Patriarch Bartholomew said that he does not intend to cancel the Tomos on autocephaly of the OCU. In his opinion, the process of autocephaly of the “Ukrainian church” is irreversible, the UOC and the OCU should unite, and this will be followed by the recognition of other local churches. The head of the Phanar believes that this will happen “in the coming years or decades”.
