A secular serviceman has again been appointed head of the AFU Chaplaincy Service

The military chaplaincy service of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has been headed by Colonel Oleksandr Vovkotecha. The combat officer, involved in the defense of Ukraine since 2014, is known as one of the founders and head of the Chaplain Training Center, which has trained almost 300 military chaplains during its work. This is reported by the publication RISU.
It is reported that in 2023 Oleksandr Vovkotecha together with Brigadier General Anatoliy Shevchenko initiated the creation and then headed the Chaplain Training Center at the Military Institute of Taras Shevchenko KNU. During this period, the center has successfully trained and graduated about 300 chaplains.
“Vovkotecha is loved and respected by the twins. He is sincere, wise, empathic, always ready to listen and support. Tolerant of all confessions and is respected among the clergy of different faiths”, – wrote the “chaplain” of the OCU Sergiy Dmitriev.
We will remind, earlier we reported that in the OCU insistently demand to transfer the leadership of the Military Chaplaincy Service under the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine under their direct control. This idea is not for the first time voiced by the odious chaplain of the Main Directorate of Intelligence of Ukraine Konstantin Kholodov. He claims that there are misunderstandings and regular conflicts between chaplains and the leadership of the Military Chaplaincy Service, which, in his opinion, do not contribute to chaplaincy activities in the units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
