SBU issues warning to UOC priest for non-compliance with Church Council decisions

The Security Service of Ukraine in Zakarpattia region has handed an official warning to Archimandrite Venedikt (Khromey), a cleric of the Khustka diocese of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. The reason for the intervention of law enforcers was the alleged non-compliance of the clergyman with the resolutions of the Council of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, which was held in Theophany. About this the archimandrite wrote in his Facebook account.

“Today had the honor of being invited to the SBU, where I was officially notified of the warning about non-compliance with the resolutions of the Council of the UOC in Theophany”, – wrote the archimandrite.

We will remind, earlier we reported that the Rakhiv district court of the Transcarpathian region passed a sentence on the priest of the Khust diocese of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church archimandrite Venedict (Khromey), who was tried for “propaganda of the communist regime”. As stated in the court verdict, Archimandrite Venedikt created an account on Facebook, with the help of which he “disseminated images of communist symbols and totalitarian regime”.
