Ex-judge of Ukraine's Constitutional Court urged to "decisively suppress" UOC

A retired judge of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine, Viktor Shyshkin, has said that the Ukrainian Orthodox Church should be «resolutely and harshly suppressed». Shyshkin is convinced that the UOC is Russia’s «fifth column» that «helps the occupiers». He stated on the air of I-UA.TV.
«The fifth column within Ukraine is the Moscow church. All their campaigns on Pochaev and other wanderings are collaborationist manifestations. Therefore, they must be resolutely suppressed. Hard, very hard. Do not pounce and do not help the occupiers. After all, you become collaborators,» — said Shishkin.
We shall remind you that earlier political analyst and publicist Vitaliy Portnikov, speaking at the invitation of the «Club of experts and expert women», saidthat the presence of the UOC in Ukraine is a threat to state independence and identity. In his opinion, the UOC is one of the key instruments for spreading «Moscow’s power and shaping Russian identity among the Ukrainian population.»
