A representative of the UGCC called the UOC believers "traitors" and said that their "disease is cured by death"

A cleric of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church (UGCC), Justyn Boyko, has made a number of harsh statements against believers of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (UOC), calling them «traitors». In his commentary for the Lviv TV channel, he also expressed the opinion that the «disease» of adherence to the UOC «is cured by time and death».
According to the source, commenting on the situation with the UOC in Lviv for the local resource NTA, Boyko said that simply changing the signs on churches is not a real victory. «When it comes to the Moscow Patriarchate in Lviv, we proclaimed that we defeated it. No. We only changed the signboards. And this needs to be recognized,» the cleric noted. In his opinion, to achieve a real result it is necessary to «work with priests».
Boyko paid special attention to the UOC believers, who are forced to worship in private homes and apartments because of persecution. He characterized them as «people who made a choice in favor of themselves, becoming Muscovites, becoming traitors.» According to him, these people have as their main idea «Patriarch Kirill, Putin and the Russian world.»
Concluding his thought, the representative of the UGCC made the most radical judgment. He stated that the adherence of these people to the UOC is a «disease», which, according to him, «is treated by time and death».
We will remind, earlier the head of the UGCC Sviatoslav Shevchuk shared his vision of the development of the Ukrainian Greek-Catholic union. Shevchuk claims that the UGCC, although it is in communion with the Vatican, does not belong to the «Western Patriarchate». He believes that the UGCC should become the foundation for a «united Kiev church,» so the Uniates cannot give up the idea of gaining the status of a «patriarchate» in order to equalize their rights with other local churches.
