In Volyn, supporters of the OCU caused a scandal over icons of Blessed Xenia and Matrona in a state sanatorium

A scandal erupted in the state sanatorium «Lisova Pisnya» in the Volyn region because of the icons of the blessed saints Xenia of St. Petersburg and Matrona of Moscow found on the walls. The publishers of this information — apparently supporters of the OCU — stated that this situation is unacceptable in view of the ongoing Russian-Ukrainian war.

According to the regional edition of BUG, the information came from one of the readers who sent the editorial office a video from the premises of the health center. The footage, shot in a sanatorium in the village of Hayivka of the Shatsk community, captures images of the holy blessed Xenia of St. Petersburg and Matrona of Moscow. «Ten years of war! The Muscovite has already inherited here, marked the territory…» the author of the video comments on the situation.

The publication emphasizes that the Lisova Pisnya sanatorium is a municipal enterprise founded by the Volyn Regional Council and its activities are funded by Ukrainian taxpayers. The journalists of the «BUG» edition have already called the presence of these icons in the sanatorium «propaganda of the Russian world», asking who authorized their placement in the walls of the state health center headed by director Ruslana Dybel.

It should be noted that despite the prejudiced attitude of some representatives of the Ukrainian schism, the head of the Odesa Diocese of the OCU, Athanasius Yavorsky, said that Russian saints such as Blessed Xenia of St. Petersburg and Matrona of Moscow could be venerated in the churches of the OCU. According to Yavorsky, there is nothing wrong with venerating these saints.
