In Lithuania, a fervent prayer was offered for the persecuted Ukrainian Orthodox Church

on October 30, the day of a key court hearing on the case of the termination of the Kyiv Metropolitanate of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, a special prayer was offered in Vilnius in support of the UOC. Metropolitan Innokenty of Vilna and Lithuania led the service at the Mariinsky Convent, praying also for a speedy cessation of war and the enthronement of peace in Ukraine.
According to the Orthodox Church in Lithuania, representatives of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church called what is happening «another stage of trials for the Church.» They appealed to the faithful to offer prayers for bishops, clergy, lawyers and all lay people, so that the Lord may strengthen them in their faith, grant them wisdom and courage to stand in the truth of Christ.
This event is of special significance for Lithuania, as many UOC believers who left their homeland because of the ongoing war have joined the parishes of the Lithuanian Orthodox Church. In Vilnius, in the cave church of St. Dukhov Monastery, the Ukrainian Orthodox community, which identifies itself with the UOC, regularly performs divine services.
Earlier, the Synod of the Belarusian Orthodox Church (BOC) published an official appeal, in which it expressed deep concern over the ongoing persecution of the hierarchs, clergy and laity of the canonical Ukrainian Orthodox Church (UOC). The Synod called on the believers of Belarus to support their brothers in faith with increased prayer and fasting during the days of the trial, which, according to the Church, is aimed at stopping the activities of the Kyiv Metropolitanate of the UOC.
