Young Republicans in the United States expressed concern about the situation of the UOC in Ukraine

Representatives of young Republicans in the United States have expressed serious concern over the actions of the Ukrainian authorities towards the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the UOC. The co-chair of the Federation of Young Republicans in the USA, Katherine Whiteford, and the New York Club of Young Republicans called for attention to the situation, emphasizing the importance of protecting religious freedom.

According to the Telegram channel «First Cossack», co-chair of the Federation of Young Republicans of the United States Katherine Whiteford expressed gratitude to Robert Amsterdam, an international lawyer of the UOC, for his efforts to highlight the alleged persecution of Christians in Ukraine. She noted that work is underway with the Young Republicans Club of New York and its head Stefano Forte to publicize the situation surrounding the UOC.

«Religious freedom is the foundation of our country, and I am grateful to have Orthodox Christian brothers among the Young Republicans who defend these founding principles here and around the world,» Whiteford’s comment was quoted in the message.

In turn, the New York Club of Young Republicans issued a statement saying that America cannot ignore the actions of the Ukrainian authorities against the UOC. The organization called on Christians to unite to stop violations of the rights of believers.
