In Bukovyna, TRC officers detained a priest of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church

In Chernivtsi Region, employees of the Territorial Center for Manning and Social Support (TRC) detained the rector of the St. Basil’s Church of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. According to available information, the clergyman was taken to one of the military training grounds in the region.
According to the Facebook page of the “Virnyi Chernivets’ko-Bukovyna Diocese of the UOC”, the incident occurred with the rector of the temple in the village of Korchevtsi, Father Valeriy Florescu. The primary source claims that the priest was “kidnapped”. He is currently believed to be at a landfill in the Chernivtsi region.
The message also calls for prayers for Fr. Valerii and another clergyman, Fr. Fedor Gnitetsky, who, according to the same source, “is still being illegally detained.” The details of his detention are not specified.
We will remind, on October 25, 2025 in Chernivtsi, employees of the Territorial Center of Completion (TRC) detained Protodeacon Valentin Makovsky, cleric of the Vvedensky Monastery of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. The clergyman was taken to the local TRC, which caused concern among believers.
