SBU reported suspicion of Moscow Patriarch Kirill

The Security Service of Ukraine has reported that the head of the Russian Orthodox Church, Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia, is under suspicion. According to the agency, he is «a member of the closest entourage of Russia’s top military and political leadership» and was one of the first who «publicly approved a full-scale war against Ukraine».
According to the investigation materials, Patriarch Kirill uses religious communities of the Russian Orthodox Church under his control on the territory of the Russian Federation, as well as representatives of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Ukraine, to «spread propaganda». It is noted that the Primate of the Russian Orthodox Church «regularly spreads Kremlin narratives» during his sermons and public speeches, justifying armed aggression. In addition to Patriarch Kirill, 18 other members of the Russian Orthodox Church’s top clergy have been suspected of committing crimes against Ukraine.
We shall remind you that recently the synod of the PCU issued a statement accusing the Russian Orthodox Church of «lawless creation» of its structures on the «canonical territory of the PCU» and other Local Churches. In this connection, the PCU called for an ecclesiastical trial of Patriarch Kirill of Moscow.
