Head of OCU performs religious events in the Near Caves of the Kyiv Cave Monastery

on November 19, 2025, the head of the OCU, Epiphany Dumenko, led religious events in the Near Caves of the Holy Dormition Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra. The event was timed to coincide with the day of memory of St. Varlaam, hegumen of the Kyiv Caves (new style).

The events were held in an underground church in honor of St. Varlaam. According to the press service of the OCU, Nestor Pysyk and Avrahamiy Lotysh took part in the events along with Epiphany Dumenko.

As reported, Svitlana Kotlyarevska, acting director general of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra National Reserve, believes that in order to increase the number of visitors to the Lavra, it is necessary to develop the hospitality infrastructure: open coffee shops, souvenir shops, sell ice cream and even create a special brand «Lavra coffee.»
