The Metropolis of Moldova banned Hieromonk Adrian (Teodorescu) from the ministry

Hieromonk Adrian (Adrian Teodorescu) was temporarily banned from priestly ministry by the decree of Metropolitan Vladimir of Chisinau and All Moldova. According to the document, the decision comes into force on December 2, 2025 and will remain in force until full repentance. The grounds for the ban were the unauthorized abandonment of the diocese and disobedience to church authority.
According to the decree published on the official website of the Orthodox Church of Moldova, the decision was made in connection with the «unauthorized and devoid of canonical grounds abandonment of the Chisinau diocese.» Among other reasons mentioned are «disobedience to higher church authorities» and «violation of the oath of office» on the part of Hieromonk Adrian (Teodorescu).
It is emphasized that the ban on the performance of divine services is temporary and will be in force «until the full repentance before the hierarch and return to the clergy of the Orthodox Church of Moldova». The decree was signed by the head of the Orthodox Church of Moldova, His Eminence Vladimir, Metropolitan of Kishinev and All Moldova.
Recall that the Synod of the Orthodox Church of Moldova (OCM) at a meeting on November 11, 2025 in Chisinau adopted a number of important decisions, including the deprivation of the dignity of eleven clergymen who moved to the Metropolitanate of Bessarabia of the Romanian Patriarchate. The meeting was held at the Metropolitan Residence and was chaired by Metropolitan Vladimir of Chisinau and All Moldova.
