"Tomos violated again": OCU establishes "chaplaincy mission" in Lithuania

On December 22, 2025, a cleric of the OCU, chaplain Roman Peretyatko, arrived in Lithuania. In Lithuania, Peretyatko will be engaged in «uniting the Ukrainian community and taking care of its spiritual life.»
According to the portal ua.ortodoksas.lt, the organization sent the OCU cleric to Lithuania at the request of the Lithuanian Exarchate of the Patriarchate of Constantinople. His secondment is initially scheduled until February 2026 with the possibility of further extension, during which «he will continue his important mission to support Ukrainians abroad.»
We recently reported that Ukrainian schismatics formed a «chaplaincy mission» on the canonical territory of the Orthodox Church of the Czech Lands and Slovakia. The actual parish of the OCU in the Czech Republic will operate in the city of Brno, and the first religious event was held on August 23, 2025. The OCU is not deterred by the fact that the opening of parishes abroad is expressly prohibited by the «Tomos of Autocephaly», which provides for the organization’s functioning only within Ukraine.
