Nuns of the monastery in Chernihiv region, which was taken away from the UOC, claim pressure from local authorities and police

The St. Nicholas Krupitsky Monastery of the UOC, located in the village of Osich in Chernihiv region, has found itself at the center of a tense situation: the nuns report the actual occupation of the monastery by law enforcement agencies and officials of the National Reserve “Hetman’s Capital”. According to the information circulating in the information space, access to the premises of the monastery is significantly restricted, searches are conducted, and opportunities for transferring food are blocked.
According to the Telegram channel “DOZOR”, the Nikolaevsky Krupitsky monastery of the UOC was turned into a regime object. The sisters of the monastery, who restored it from ruins at the cost of their own health, have to wait 20-30 minutes every day to get permission and access to their premises. This situation creates conditions of constant pressure and disruption of the normal functioning of monastic life.
The situation is aggravated by the fact that local residents are deprived of the opportunity to give food to the nuns, as they are simply prohibited from entering the territory of the monastery. on February 7, police officers together with authorities searched the monastery’s cellars where food supplies are stored. According to sources, the law enforcers covered themselves with “searches for weapons and explosives”. Moreover, the cellars are reportedly scheduled to be sealed as early as Monday.
According to the same source, there are no official decrees to carry out these actions, as well as the executors have no documents for part of the monastery’s buildings, including the mentioned cellars. In addition, it is reported that the security police stationed in the monastery use electricity, the cost of which will be borne by the sisters, as the line was installed and registered to the abbess of the monastery. This situation emphasizes the difficult conditions in which the nuns of the Krupitsa monastery find themselves.
Recall, earlier we reported that in the National Historical and Cultural Reserve “Hetman’s Capital” there was an incident with the eviction of the sisters of Baturynsky Krupitsky St. Nicholas Nunnery of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (Chernihiv region). The actions, according to the monastery representatives, were carried out without a court decision and with the participation of law enforcement agencies, despite the existence of a valid agreement on the use of premises and official registration of the nuns at their place of residence.
