Ukrainian Ministry of Culture attracts UNESCO to preserve the All Saints Church in the Kiev Pechersk Lavra

The Ministry of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine has asked the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) for assistance in preserving the Church of All Saints over the Economic Gate, located on the territory of the National Reserve «Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra».
According to the data provided by the National Reserve «Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra», on February 27, 2026, UNESCO, the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine and the Reserve itself signed a document on joint activities. The purpose of this agreement is to develop a plan for conservation and restoration of the architectural monument, as well as attracting the necessary experts and funding to carry out work to save it.
The material also notes that the message of the National Reserve does not contain information about the reasons why the Ministry of Culture can not independently solve the issue of preservation of the temple, which is on the state balance, without attracting international assistance.
Recall, earlier we reported that the National Reserve «Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra» concluded a contract for services of protection of the territory and premises until the end of 2026. The total value of the contract amounted to more than 27.5 million hryvnias.
