The court on the case of the UOC's access to the "Upper Lavra" postponed again

Session of the Northern economic court of appeal of Kiev on the claim of the monastery of the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (UOC) on the admission to the temples of the Upper Lavra, scheduled for March 12, 2026, was again postponed. This was reported by the lawyer of the monastery Archpriest Nikita Chekman.
According to the human rights activist, the court hearing on the proceedings will be held in a week. It will be held on March 19, 2026. Archpriest Nikita Chekman thanked everyone who came to support the defenders of the Lavra in court and called for continued prayers for the good resolution of the situation around the monastery.
Earlier, Metropolitan Antony (Pakanich), the manager of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (UOC), sharply criticized attempts to turn the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra from a living spiritual monastery into a «reserve» and a museum. According to the hierarch, this is an effort to «neatly lock up» living Orthodoxy, pushing centuries-old prayer tradition into the realm of history, as well as leading to the cynical eviction of monks from their homes and the installation of pagan idols on Kiev’s hills.
