Monastic tonsure performed in UOC monastery in Transcarpathia

on March 14, 2026, at the Seraphim Monastery in Rakhiv, with the blessing of Metropolitan Mark of Khust and Vynogradiv, Bishop Mark of Rakhiv, vicar of the Khust Diocese, took monastic vows. This was reported by the UOC Information and Education Department.
It is reported that a monk of the monastery, novice Nikolai, who was tonsured and named Spyridon, was tonsured. After the rite, Bishop Mark congratulated the newly tonsured monk and wished him that the Lord would strengthen him in his monastic feat, grant him spiritual strength, humility and zeal in his service to the Glory of God.
As reported, on March 12, 2026, on Thursday of the third week of Great Lent, monastic vows were made in two monasteries of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. In the Molchensky Convent in Putivl and the Pokrovsky Convent in Kryvyi Rih , new nuns took vows with names in honor of Sts.
