Representatives of the AUCCRO continue to divert the attention of foreign institutions from the issue of banning the UOC

on March 13, 2026, representatives of the All-Ukrainian Council of Churches and Religious Organizations (AUCCRO) met in London with the President of the Conference of European Churches (CEC), Archbishop Nikitas of Thyatira and Great Britain (Ecumenical Patriarchate). The meeting focused on interfaith dialogue, support for Ukraine, and countering the Russian World ideology. At the same time, none of the representatives of the delegation mentioned the violation of the rights of the clergy and faithful of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church.
According to the AUCCRO’s official website, the delegation held a number of meetings in London, including with Rebecca Smith, deputy chair of the Christians in Parliament cross-party group, Paul Walters, head of the Ukraine Department of the British Foreign Office, and Ambassador of Ukraine to the United Kingdom Valeriy Zaluzhny. Ukrainian religious leaders also took part in a Chatham House event on the protection of Ukrainian identity.
The AUCCRO delegation included a representative of the OCU, Yevstratiy Zorya, hierarchs of the Roman Catholic Church Kenneth Novakivsky and Vitaliy Kryvytsky, Protestant pastors Ihor Bandura and Anatoliy Raychynets, as well as legal counsel Gennadiy Bilorytsky and Chairman of the Board Oleksandr Zayets.
Earlier, we reported that lawyer Robert Amsterdam published an article in which he sharply criticized the UK government for ignoring the facts of religious persecution in Ukraine. He accused London of «shameful silence» amid massive violations of the rights of believers of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (UOC), including confiscation of churches, politically motivated arrests of clergy, and legislative initiatives such as Bill 3894, which aims to ban the Church.
