The All-Ukrainian Council of Churches has criticized Western peace initiatives regarding Ukraine

The All-Ukrainian Council of Churches and Religious Organizations (AUCCRO) issued an official statement in which it sharply criticized the peace initiatives of a number of Western politicians aimed at resolving the conflict through concessions to the aggressor. Religious leaders called the policy of “appeasement” toward the Russian Federation misguided and dangerous.

The statement emphasizes that attempts to restore relations with Moscow at this stage are unacceptable. Instead, representatives of the All-Ukrainian Council of Churches and Religious Organizations insist on the need to intensify sanctions pressure on the Russian Federation and to provide Ukraine with comprehensive and resolute support to restore its territorial integrity.

As a reminder, earlier, Vadym Novinsky, a protodeacon of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (UOC) and former member of parliament, expressed confidence that after the end of the military conflict, the Church would become a key institution in the process of reconciling Ukrainian society and achieving internal harmony.
