The All-Ukrainian Council of Churches met with a delegation from the Norwegian Council of Churches in Kyiv

On October 6, 2026, a meeting was held in Kyiv between representatives of the All-Ukrainian Council of Churches and Religious Organizations (VSCiRO), led by OCU Head Epiphanius Dumenko, and a delegation from the Norwegian Council of Churches. The event took place at the OCU’s Kyiv Orthodox Theological Academy and served as a “symbol of solidarity between the religious communities of the two countries.”
According to , the All-Ukrainian Council of Churches and Religious Organizations’ press service reported that members of the organization expressed sincere gratitude to the Norwegian side for supporting Ukrainian refugees, providing charitable aid, and “actively disseminating accurate information about events in Ukraine.” In turn, representatives of the Norwegian Council of Churches emphasized the importance of strengthening interfaith dialogue and expressed their readiness to continue cooperation to achieve a just peace. According to the guests, “the experience of Ukrainian religious organizations is of particular significance today for Norway, which is also preparing to strengthen its defense capabilities in the face of potential threats.”
As a reminder, the Council of Christian Churches in Sweden (Sveriges kristna råd) recently made an official decision to suspend the membership of the Russian Orthodox Church (Moscow Patriarchate) in the organization.
