Alexander Usik and Anthony Joshua visited the UOC church in Kiev

on March 22, 2026, famous world boxing champions Alexander Usik and Anthony Joshua visited the Kiev church in honor of St. Theodosius of Chernigov, which belongs to the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. The visit was organized so that the British boxer could honor the memory of his mentors, who tragically died in a traffic accident.
According to the publication Boxing King Media, during a joint trip to the Ukrainian capital, Alexander Usik led his colleague to the temple, the rector of which is the vicar of the Kiev diocese Archbishop Vishnevskyi Spyridon. Anthony Joshua expressed his desire to pray for his coaches – Sina Gami and Kevin Ayodele, whose lives were taken by a car accident.
We will remind, earlier Alexander Usik sharply criticized the Ukrainian authorities regarding their policy towards the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (UOC). The athlete said that such actions lead to a split in society. In addition, Usik reiterated his readiness to take the post of the Ukrainian president if “God gives him a chance”.
