Patriarch John X of Antioch and Syrian hierarchs condemned threats to peaceful coexistence in Syria

His Beatitude Patriarch John X of Antioch and All the East, together with the highest clergy of Syria, issued an official statement aimed at defending national unity. The religious leaders expressed strong protest against any action that threatens the centuries-old peaceful coexistence of the various communities within the country.

According to Orthodoxia News Agency, the reason for the emergency meeting was the recent tragic events in the city of Al-Suqaylabiya. During the solidarity meeting held at the Patriarchal Residence in Damascus, Patriarch John X and the Syrian hierarchs reaffirmed their tough stance, condemning any manifestations of violence that undermine social stability.

The meeting was attended by prominent representatives of the Church, including Metropolitan Basil of Arcadia, Metropolitan Athanasius of Laodicea, Metropolitan Gregory of Emesa (Homs), as well as other bishops. The clergy emphasized that preserving harmony among the peoples of Syria is a priority and the Church will continue to raise its voice against any threats to the security of citizens.
