In Vinnytsia, TCC officers detained the secretary of the UOC Metropolitan Archimandrite Filaret

In Vinnytsia, employees of the Territorial Completion Center (TCC) and the police detained Archimandrite Filaret (Olivinskyy), a cleric of the Vinnytsia diocese of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (UOC). Despite having all the necessary documents, the clergyman, who holds the post of secretary to Metropolitan Varsonofiy, is currently being forcibly detained on the territory of the military enlistment center.

According to the press service of the Vinnytsia diocese of the UOC, the detention took place in the evening of April 7. Representatives of the TCC justified their actions by the need to execute papers for granting a temporary deferment. It is noted that the military documents of the archimandrite and his data in the electronic system «Reserve+» are in good order and updated.

At the moment Archimandrite Filaret, who heads the diocesan chancery and is the personal secretary of Metropolitan of Vinnytsia and Barskyi Varsonofiy, remains blocked in the building of the TCC. The diocese urged the faithful to pray and make the situation as public as possible to prevent the clergy from mobilizing.
