Vladimir Putin announced the introduction of a 32-hour Easter truce

Russian President Vladimir Putin has ordered the introduction of a ceasefire regime for the period of the celebration of Orthodox Easter in 2026. The ceasefire will last 32 hours and is designed to provide believers with an opportunity to celebrate the Bright Resurrection of Christ in conditions of silence. This is reported by RBC.
According to the decision of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Armed Forces, the ceasefire will be in effect from 16:00 on April 11, 2026 until the end of the day on April 12. The official report emphasizes that Moscow expects similar steps from the Ukrainian leadership, expecting Kiev to “follow Russia’s example” and also cease fire.
We shall remind you that earlier we reported that Ukraine officially confirmed its readiness to introduce a ceasefire and stop attacks on the energy infrastructure for the period of the Easter holidays. The Ukrainian side is ready to act in a mirror-like manner and expects appropriate steps from the Russian side to implement this initiative
