Turkey's Chief Rabbi visits Patriarch Bartholomew with Passover greetings

On Thursday of Holy Week, Patriarch Bartholomew met with Turkey’s Chief Rabbi David Sivi at the residence of the Patriarchate of Constantinople at the Phanar. The event was timed to coincide with the celebration of Orthodox Easter.
According to Greek news agency Romfea.gr, Turkey’s Chief Rabbi David Sivi, accompanied by his colleagues, paid a personal visit to the Patriarch to express his deep respect and convey holiday greetings.
During the official meeting, Sivi conveyed warm wishes on the occasion of the Resurrection of Christ to Patriarch Bartholomew, and in his person to the entire Greek community and Orthodox Christians living in Turkey.
Recall that on April 6, 2026, Patriarch Bartholomew of Constantinople made an official visit to the Neve Shalom Synagogue in Istanbul’s Galata district. The purpose of the visit was to pay his respects and send holiday greetings to the Jewish community of the city on the occasion of the beginning of Passover.
