The Supreme Court of Ukraine opened appeal proceedings on the case of termination of Koretskyi monastery's activity

The Supreme Court of Ukraine, comprising a panel of judges of the Cassation Administrative Court, has started considering the appeal of the Koretskyy Holy Trinity Women’s Stavropegial Monastery of the Moscow Patriarchate. According to the official website of the State Service of Ukraine on Ethno-politics and Freedom of Conscience (DESS), the proceedings were opened by the court’s ruling of April 27, 2026.

This court proceeding concerns case No. 855/2/2/26 (proceeding A/990/9/26), initiated on the suit of the DESS. The Office demands the termination of the activities of the religious organization. The monastery’s appeal seeks to challenge the decision of the Sixth Administrative Court of Appeal, issued on March 16, 2026. Currently, a copy of the definition of the Supreme Court on the beginning of appeal proceedings is provided to the parties for familiarization.
