The court suspended the proceedings on the liquidation of Koretsky Stavropigial Monastery

The Sixth Administrative Court of Appeal has decided to suspend the court proceedings in the lawsuit filed by the State Service of Ukraine for Ethnopolitics and Freedom of Conscience (SSEC) against Koretskyi Holy Trinity Women’s Stavropegial Monastery of the Moscow Patriarchate. According to the official website of the HESS, the relevant ruling in case No. 855/2/26 was issued on April 28, 2026.

The essence of the dispute is the requirement of the state agency to stop the activities of this religious organization. According to the text of the judgment, the proceedings are suspended until the review of another decision of the Sixth Administrative Court of Appeal of March 16, 2026. The said March decision concerned the return of a counterclaim filed by the representatives of Koretsk Holy Trinity Monastery in the current proceedings.

At the moment, a copy of the suspension order in case No. 855/2/2/26 is open for inspection. This process is part of the legal activity of the state to regulate the activities of religious structures that have a canonical connection with the Moscow Patriarchate.

Recall, earlier we reported that the media established the total number of immovable property owned by Koretskyi Holy Trinity Stavropigial Nunnery of the Russian Orthodox Church, located in Rivne region. Journalists expect that all the property of the monastery will be expropriated by the state after the Holy Trinity Monastery loses its legal registration.
