The trial in the case of Metropolitan Theodosius postponed again: expert fined for non-appearance

In the Sosnovskyy district court of Cherkasy, the next session in the case of the hierarch of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church Metropolitan Theodosius (Snigirev) of Cherkasy and Kanev ended with the postponement of the hearing. The reason was the repeated non-appearance of a key expert, which led to the imposition of a monetary penalty on her.

According to the online edition «18000», the expert Anna Stromilo once again failed to appear at the hearing on May 5. In this regard, the court again imposed on her a maximum fine of 6,656 hryvnias. The total amount of financial sanctions imposed on the expert for ignoring court summons without valid reasons now amounts to 14,976 hryvnias. In addition to the non-appearance of the witness, the reason for the postponement was the provision of time for the defense side to get acquainted with the materials of the prosecution.

We will remind, earlier we reported that the Sosnovsky district court of Cherkassy decided to extend the measure of restraint to the manager of Cherkassy diocese of the UOC Metropolitan Feodosiy (Snigirev), who is a defendant in several criminal cases. According to the court ruling on April 13, the bishop will remain under personal commitment for another two months.
