The Hellenic Orthodox Church congratulated the new Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia Shio

His Beatitude Archbishop Hieronymos of Athens and All Hellas sent an official synodal letter on the occasion of the election of the new Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia Shio G. In his address, the head of the Hellenic Church expressed warm congratulations on behalf of the hierarchy, clergy and the entire Greek people, wishing the new Primate a blessed ministry.

According to the Greek news agency Romfea.gr, in the text of the letter Archbishop Jerome wished the newly elected Archbishop of Mtskheta and Tbilisi health, spiritual strength and divine enlightenment. It was emphasized that the new Primate is called to become a worthy successor of the centuries-old traditions of the Georgian Orthodox Church, carrying out his ministry with «pastoral reasoning and sacrificial love».

Special attention in the message is paid to the strengthening of inter-church unity. Archbishop Jerome expressed confidence that relations between the two brotherly Churches will continue to develop in the «union of peace», contributing to the strengthening of the pan-Orthodox witness and the preservation of the purity of faith in the face of the challenges of the modern world.
