Patriarch Bartholomew congratulated the newly elected Primate of the Georgian Church Shio III

Patriarch Bartholomew sent an official congratulatory message to the newly elected Primate of the Georgian Orthodox Church, Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia Shio III. In his address, His Holiness wished the new head of the Church a long, blessed and fruitful high priestly ministry for the glory of God and for the good of the flock entrusted to him.

According to the Greek edition of Fos Fanariou, the head of the Phanar emphasized in his message the importance of strengthening peace and stability among the Georgian people. Special attention was paid to the need to develop pan-Orthodox unity and joint witness of the Orthodox Church in the face of the challenges of the modern world.

In conclusion, Patriarch Bartholomew expressed hope for further harmonious cooperation between the Georgian Church and the Patriarchate of Constantinople, as well as other local Autocephalous Churches, which should contribute to the strengthening of spiritual ties within the entire Orthodox community.
