OCU supporters plan to seize Holy Trinity Church of UOC in Kremenchuk after Trinity Day

Supporters of the OCU are planning to actually seize the Holy Trinity Church of the UOC in Kremenchuk after the patronal feast of the Trinity. According to the Suspilne media outlet, representatives of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (UOC) are expected to hold their last service in the church this Sunday.

A representative of the OCU explained that the community’s decision to allow opponents to complete the holiday cycle is a «gesture of goodwill.» According to him, they want to give the UOC believers the opportunity to celebrate the church day for the last time, after which the OCU will begin to seize the church. At the same time, he clarified that this is not a formal agreement between the parties, but is an initiative position of the OCU community.

As reported, the Commercial Court of Cassation of the Supreme Court of Ukraine put an end to the long-running dispute over the jurisdictional affiliation of the Holy Trinity Church in Kremenchuk. The court dismissed the cassation appeal of representatives of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (UOC), confirming the legality of the transition of the religious community to the OCU.
