Protestant pastor Mark Burns, “Trump’s confessor,” arrived in Odessa to participate in the Black Sea Security Forum 2026, the largest international geopolitical event in southern Ukraine. The forum is dedicated to discussing key security issues of the Black Sea region and the whole of Europe.

People’s Deputy Oleksiy Goncharenko, who reported on the visit, expressed deep gratitude to Pastor Burns for his support of Ukraine and active position in the issue of assistance to the state. According to Goncharenko, the event will bring together senators, congressmen, presidents and leading world politicians in Odessa, emphasizing the status of the city as a place where the future of the European security system is being decided today.

Pastor Mark Burns himself shared his impressions of the visit on his social media accounts, calling Ukraine a beautiful country with an unusually resilient people. “In wartime, faith must go beyond words. We carry prayer and stand in defense of peace”, – he noted.

Recall, earlier we reported that Mark Burns does not believe in the rhetoric spread in the American conservative media about the oppression of believers of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Ukraine. He voiced his position after a personal visit to Ukraine, where he talked to “religious leaders”.
