In Kirovograd region, TCC officers detained the rector of the UOC church

In Kirovohrad region there was an incident with the detention of a clergyman of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (UOC) by representatives of the territorial staffing center (TSC) and the police. The rector of the church in honor of the icon of the Mother of God «Skoroposluslushnitsa» in the village of Sharovka, Archpriest Andrei Lysyuk, was forcibly taken to the distribution center. This is reported by the publication «First Kazatsky».

According to information from relatives of the clergyman, the incident occurred on May 30. Father Andrew’s car was stopped by officers of the TCK and the police on the way to the temple. Despite the fact that the priest provided all the necessary documents confirming his ministry and status as rector of the parish, the law enforcers decided to detain him.

Currently, Father Andrei Lysyuk is in the distribution center of the city of Kropivnitsky. According to sources, the clergyman refuses to be released, motivated by his belonging to the clergy of the UOC. The situation remains tense, no official comments from law enforcement authorities at the moment.
