Patriarch Shio of Georgia Congratulated Metropolitan Onuphrius on the Anniversary of His Enthronement

Catholicos-Patriarch Shio III of All Georgia sent an official message of congratulations to His Beatitude Onuphrius, Metropolitan of Kyiv and All Ukraine, on the occasion of the 12th anniversary of his primatial ministry. According to , the Information and Education Department of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, in his message the head of the Georgian Orthodox Church noted the primate’s significant contribution to the spiritual life of society.

The congratulatory letter emphasizes that Metropolitan Onufry carries out his high ministry with deep trust in Divine Providence. Patriarch Shio III particularly noted that, by his example, the Primate of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church demonstrates selfless love for his people and the Church of Christ.

The Head of the Georgian Church wished Metropolitan Onufry strength of mind and body, as well as the Savior’s inexhaustible help in his archpastoral labors. In closing his message, the Patriarch expressed his hope that the All-Merciful Lord would bestow His grace and grant peace to Ukraine and the entire world.

As a reminder, on August 16, 2026, a meeting took place in Tbilisi between Catholicos-Patriarch Shio III of All Georgia and the representative of the Patriarchate of Constantinople, Metropolitan Emmanuel of Chalcedon. The parties discussed strengthening the fraternal ties between the two Churches and the possibility of an upcoming visit by the Georgian primate to the Phanar.
