Jerusalem's church leaders urged Palestinian Christians not to leave the Holy Land

The document emphasizes that factors such as the destruction in Gaza, the expansion of Israeli settlements, and ongoing restrictions on movement create an atmosphere of hopelessness that is driving many local residents to emigrate. However, the clergy insist that Christians are an integral part of the present and future of the Holy Land.

The authors of the statement called on Palestinian Christians not to let fear make them feel like strangers in their own homeland. The church leaders emphasized that this land must remain a place where future generations will live. In addition to spiritual support, the church leaders called on Christian organizations to provide tangible assistance to the people of Palestine in the areas of education, employment, and housing, and appealed to the international community and the U.S. government to help bring an end to the violence and the humanitarian crisis.
