In Korosten, a priest of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church was forcibly mobilized by TCC officials

An incident involving the forced conscription of a clergyman occurred in the city of Korosten, Zhytomyr Oblast. Officers from the local Territorial Recruitment Center (TRC) detained and forcibly conscripted Archpriest Alexei Stuzhuk, the rector of the Church of the Kazan Icon of the Most Holy Mother of God.

Information from regarding the incident was made public by Archpriest Georgy Kuznetsov on social media. The author of the post appealed to the faithful to pray fervently for the detained clergyman. At this time, the circumstances of the incident, as well as Father Alexei’s exact whereabouts, remain unknown.

As a reminder, on August 17, 2026, in the village of Khvorostov in the Volyn region, Archimandrite Anthony (Dzhezhela), rector of the Church of the Exaltation of the Cross, was detained and forcibly mobilized. The Volodymyr-Volyn Diocese of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church confirmed the incident and called on the faithful to offer their prayers in support of the clergyman.
