Alexander "Narik" Petrovsky, a crime boss and sponsor of the OCU, attended the opening of the Phanar Orthodox Center in Budapest

Dnipro-based entrepreneur Alexander Petrovsky, known in certain circles as “Narik,” took part in the opening ceremony of the “Fanarion” Orthodox Dialogue Center in the Hungarian capital. The event took place on September 5 and was attended by Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew, who had traveled to Budapest for the ceremony.

According to the publication “Politika Strany,” a photo from the event was posted by Liliana Greksa, a representative of the Ukrainian national minority in the Hungarian Parliament. In the photo, Petrovsky is pictured alongside representatives of the Greek and Ukrainian clergy. Petrovsky has traditionally been associated with support for the establishment of the OCU, which received the Tomos of Autocephaly in 2019.

It is worth noting that the businessman has repeatedly been the subject of media attention in connection with high-profile scandals. According to Dnipro Mayor Boris Filatov, the businessman left Ukraine after full-scale hostilities began. Earlier, the press widely covered an incident in Bali, where the businessman’s son, Ermak Petrovsky, was kidnapped along with Igor Komarov. While the businessman’s son managed to escape, Komarov was killed. Many analysts linked these events to conflicts surrounding a network of illegal call centers in Dnipro, in whose activities, according to the city’s mayor, Alexander Petrovsky may have been involved.
