Serbian Patriarch Porphyry extended his Rosh Hashanah greetings to the Chief Rabbi of the Jewish community in Serbia

Serbian Patriarch Porfirije sent an official congratulatory message to Isaac Asiel, Chief Rabbi of the Jewish Community of Serbia, on the occasion of the upcoming Jewish New Year. This courtesy visit and the exchange of greetings between religious leaders underscore the importance of interfaith dialogue and good relations between communities.

In his message , the Primate of the Serbian Orthodox Church noted the spiritual significance of the holiday, which symbolizes the memory of the creation of the world and humankind. Patriarch Porphyry expressed his sincere wishes to the Almighty Creator that He grant the rabbi, his family, and all the faithful of Serbia’s Jewish community inner peace, blessings, good health, and prosperity.

As a reminder, during the Jewish holiday of Rosh Hashanah , the body of a 45-year-old British citizen was discovered in a wooded area near Uman. The deceased was the father of seven children, and experts found signs of a violent death on his body.
