In Slavyansk, an OCU activist publicly admitted to breaking into a UOC church

A scandal has erupted in the city of Slavyansk over the recent seizure of the Serafimovsky Church of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (UOC). OCU activist Alexander Onishchenko posted a video in which he announced the holding of the first “service” in the seized building, effectively confirming his involvement in breaking into the sanctuary by forcing open its doors and locks. This was reported by the Telegram channel “Dozor.”
In his address, recorded in the church’s bell tower, Onishchenko leveled harsh accusations against the parishioners and clergy of the UOC, calling them “Moscow terrorists.” The activist made an unsubstantiated claim that weapons were allegedly stored in the church’s basements and that the premises were used for illegal activities. The “Dozor” Telegram channel emphasizes that these statements directly point to the activist’s responsibility for the illegal intrusion into the religious building that occurred the day before.
Earlier, it was reported that in Slavyansk , unknown individuals had forced open the doors of two churches belonging to the canonical church. Law enforcement agencies have already launched an official investigation into the incidents regarding the unlawful entry into the premises.
