Plans are underway to build the world's tallest statue of Jesus Christ in the Philippines

An ambitious project to erect a monumental statue of Jesus Christ, 207 meters tall, has been unveiled in the Philippines. The Polish engineering and construction holding company Slipform has taken on the task of developing the concept.
The project, designed by architects Jerzy Sparadowski and Daniel Kisala, calls for the monument to be erected in the province of Southern Ilocos. If the initiative is carried out, the structure will become the tallest depiction of Christ in the world, significantly surpassing the 43.5-meter monument in Encantado, Brazil, and the 52.5-meter statue in Świebodzin, Poland.
The technological aspects of the construction are impressive in terms of speed: according to Daniel Kisala, CEO of Slipform, the construction of a reinforced concrete load-bearing core over 200 meters tall can be completed in just 40 days. According to preliminary engineering estimates, approximately 27,000 cubic meters of concrete will be required to build this structure.
The project has now been submitted to a Filipino investor for review. If approved, specialists will begin developing detailed technical documentation to commence construction work.
As a reminder, the Polish village of Konotop hosted the grand opening of a monumental statue of the Virgin Mary, which is officially recognized as the tallest concrete statue of the Virgin Mary in Europe. The structure stands 55.6 meters tall, making it taller than the famous Christ the Redeemer statue in Rio de Janeiro.
