Since the Russian Orthodox Church has not received any appeals from the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, we cannot respond to the information we receive from the press and the Internet.
We pray for the preservation of the unity of the Russian Orthodox Church. We pray for a speedy peace and an end to the bloodshed.
The Ukrainian Orthodox Church is in a very difficult situation and is under pressure from various sides: from the authorities, schismatics, nationalist-minded representatives of a certain part of the public, from the media.
In a situation where external forces are trying to destroy the unity of the Russian Orthodox Church, it would be highly irresponsible for us to enter into detailed commentary on decisions made in the self-governing Ukrainian Orthodox Church.
