Deputies of the Mirgorod City Council seized land plots from the UOC

On May 24, 2023, the deputies of the Mirgorod City Council voted to deprive the UOC of the right to use land plots on the territory of the community. This was reported in the press service of the City Council.

“The initiator of the ban on the activities of religious organizations of the UOC (Moscow Patriarchate) and the termination of their right to use land in the Mirgorod community was the Hero of Ukraine Oleksandr Mostovoy, the military, and the public,” the city council noted.

According to the decision, the authorities terminated the contracts with the UOC for the lease of land under the Assumption Cathedral in Mirgorod, the Church of St. John the Theologian and the land next to it.

The deputies also took away from the UOC land plots under churches in the villages of Kibintsy and Maltsy of the Mirgorod community, and also deprived the Church of another plot where the UOC planned to build a new church.
