In Irkliyev, the community of the UOC, which was “transferred” to the OCU, celebrated a temple holiday

On June 5, 2023, on the day of the Holy Spirit, the patronal feast was celebrated in the Holy Trinity Church in the village of Irkliyev, Chernobayevsky deanery of the Cherkasy diocese, the press service of the Cherkasy diocese of the UOC reports. The Divine Liturgy on this day was celebrated by the honorary rector and builder of this church, vicar of the Cherkasy diocese, Archbishop John of Zolotonosha. His Eminence was co-served by Archpriest Valeriy Rusnyak, Dean of the Chernobaev District, Archpriest John Lavryshyn, Rector of the Church, and clergy of the Chernobaev Deanery.

But, as you know, this parish was illegally “transferred” to the OCU three days before by local activists in the village club of Irkliyev. The Archbishop John, the clergy, and many parishioners were not invited to the meeting.

As reported on the website of the diocese, Archbishop John of Zolotonosha is the founder, builder, and confessor of this church to this day.
