We will find a way to expel the UOC from the Pochaev Lavra, - head of the Ternopil Regional Council

The Ternopil Regional Council plans to initiate an appeal to the authorities with a demand to return the Pochaev Lavra to the regional community. This was stated by the head of the Ternopil Regional Council, Mikhail Golovko, on the air of the TV program «About the main thing in details,» Espresso.Zapad reports.

He added that the Ternopil Regional Council had already held five extraordinary meetings, appealed to the government, parliament and the Ministry of Culture with a demand to terminate the agreement with the UOC, but this did not produce any results.

«We made a working group, field meetings, went there, showed them the facts of violations regarding the use of land and other things that they carry out there with violations, which are the grounds for terminating the agreement, but they do not want this,» Golovko complained.

He said that at the session of the Ternopil Regional Council next week an appeal would be initiated to give the shrine into the ownership of the regional community.

«And we will find a way to expel the Russian Church from there, we will find a way to break the agreement if Tkachenko cannot do it, if the government and the parliament cannot do it, which does not want to consider bills to ban the enemy Church,» Golovko said.

In addition, he added that in the Ternopil region he continues to collect signatures not only for a ban on the activities of the UOC on the territory of Ukraine, but also for «taking the Pochaev shrine from the Moscow Church and giving it to the Ukrainian one.»
