There was an attempt to seize the Holy Trinity Cathedral of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Irkliyev

On August 2, 2023, in the village of Irkliev, Zolotonosha district, supporters of the OCU made an attempt to seize the Holy Trinity Cathedral of the UOC. This is reported by the Telegram channel Cherkasky Blagovestnik.

«Armed» with swear words, a group of hostile people, posing as the community of the temple, entered into a fierce conflict with priests and real parishioners, who at that time were praying on the street. When obscene words were exhausted, brute physical force was used,» the message says.

It is noted that the «rector» of the previously captured Spaso-Preobrazhensky Church in the village of Velikiye Kanevtsy, the «priest» of the OCU Anthony Lysenko, tried to cut off the locks on the doors of the temple with a grinder, threatening to «complete» the criminal case that had begun. Thanks to the courage and unity of the parish community, which became a «human shield» around the temple, the seizure was stopped.
